The film’s first look offers a glimpse into the life of Malcolm, a described geek, sporting an old school high top fade, who is living out his adolescent years in a rough section of Inglewood California, dubbed “The Bottoms.” Malcolm aims to escape these mean streets of Los Angeles by one day attending Harvard University. However, between the mischief his gang of “outcasts” delve in, coupled with the temptations of his neighborhood’s impounding street life, Malcolm’s path may not be so easy. Vintage threads, a punk rock anthem, fast-paced action, and cameos by hip hop star A$AP Rocky and model Chanel Iman highlight this thirty-second preview. A supporting cast with Los Angeles ties including rappers Vince Staples, Tyga, and Casey Veggies, coupled with retired Laker Rick Fox will be joined by Forest Whitaker and Zoë Kravitz amongst others.
