With the turn of a new year, the same old hustle has been applied to the Xtreme 104 FM brand; continuing their support of the Indie music scene that dominates the tri-state area the internet based radio brand has built off of the momentum of their All Star Music Awards series, in its 3rd cycle, and have now released the first of their mixtape series, In My City: Where It All Began. Featuring many of the brightest up and coming MCs todays climate has to offer, the 32-track mixtape is highlighted by the traditional boom bap sound which has made NYC the dominant element that it is sonically.
To set the promo up and roll the project out accordingly, Xtreme 104 FM CEO DJ xxxotic Mami hosted a pre-launch event January 10th, 2015 at Madame X located in the trendy SOHO district of New York City, flanked by fiance Andrew Chandler, and the rest of her Xtreme 104 FM staff. Coupling as an official listening session, warming up DJs, Media, and brand supporters to the before unreleased tunes that would be featured on the project, the night served as the perfect springboard to the official release party which took place the following Thursday night @ Xtreme 104 FM / Pivot Music Group headquarters at 600 Johnson Ave in Brooklyn, NY.
On this special night, Franchise DJ Digga, as well as collaborators treated listeners to a LIVE freestyle session as well as interviews on pending projects and their sentiments regarding being a part of the monumental release. Notable artists featured on the project include Nay Nillz, Sinn tha Saint, Focus, Streetz Da God, Tuck, Monster Mitch, Mr Cheeks, Maxx Paine, Pete Colon, Tito Montana, Triboro, and T Wiz to name a few.
