Chicago-native Vi City is an artist, writer, and producer of both music and film, who has found himself thriving in the music industry after a more non-traditional start to his career. Before he got himself invited into the studio with hit artist Nelly, Vi City was on the south side of Chicago, hoping to broaden his horizons and avoid getting trapped in the system there.
Presently, Vi City’s work ethic and aspirations have led him to success as an artist and powerful business owner of Hundreds Entertainment, but this wasn’t always what his life looked like. Much before he had music that he wrote, performed, and produced be featured on the hit show, Entourage, and before he helped to co-produce tracks for Young Money with producer Rich Skillz, Vi City’s life was set on a much different path.
Vi City always had an interest in music and rapping, and he started at a young age rapping for drug dealers for extra cash before he started hustling himself. After beating a multitude of drug and weapon-related charges, the artist decided to take music more seriously. Vi found his big break when Charles “Chilly” Patton and Mathew Odinuyi of Mathaus Entertainment signed Vi City as an artist.
Since then, Vi City attributes his success to always staying authentic to himself and creating music that he loves. He notes that “If you don’t feel it, no one else will”, and stresses the importance of putting your soul into your work.
Looking into the future, you can expect new projects to be released by Vi City, especially his upcoming solo album “CiTY LiF3”, as well as future projects from artist Phoînix Keyz, who is an artist signed to Vi City’s company Hundreds Entertainment.
