Rhode Island mc, Freddie Black, has released his highly anticipated album “The Black Tape”. Longtime collaborator, SpliftOut, handles the heavy lifting on production. The pair recorded the album at the world renowned D.I.T.C. Studios in NYC. The album is full of soulful, hard hitting backdrops and may be the first to have had all of the records cleared through the sampling service, Tracklib.
The Black Tape is a fast yet compelling ride through Freddie’s life set to unparalleled theme music (every good super hero needs some). The tape is a follow up to the one off singles the pair released throughout the early parts of 2018 including the bangers “4Give ft Phokus” & “3 Degrees”.
Ever since SpliftOut’s production standout’s on the self titled “Everybody Luv Black” album in 2014, there was no doubt he and Freddie would join forces again to create. The release of “The Black Tape” on September 9 2018 makes that point proof positive. If boom bap, reality rap mixed with a heavenly ambience is your thing then this album deserves a download/stream at the very least. You can find the album at smarturl.it/FreddieBlackTBT.
