Upcoming pop/R&B crooner Kabir is an prime example of the pursuement of what you really want to do. He was a Financial Analyst for Bloomberg LP in New York City until his love of music made him do a bold move of quitting his position at the prominent financial institution. Briefly after, he met and teamed up with music and entertainment veteran Damen Hayward, which amplified him to pursue his dream even more.
His decision was just any out of the blue moment. Kabir comes from a musical background. His paternal lineage includes the world-renowned group of Indian artists, the Partap Brothers, and growing up surrounded by their sounds inspired Kabir to pursue his own musical path. Over the course of his adolescence, he discovered the power of his singing voice and developed an eclectic taste in music, ranging from the classical Indian styles of his family heritage to American classics and contemporary music—all of which inform the Pop and R&B sounds that define his style today.
The Brown Debonair introduces himself to the music world with the E&E-directed visuals to his sexy debut single, “Got Me Hooked,” which is written by Heyward and produced by Juan “Majik” Peters, who created hits for artists such as Olivia and Lady Gaga.
Kabir’s mission is clear: to introduce his distinctive look and sound to the world, and expand public conceptions of what modern Pop and R&B can be. He aims to surprise and enthrall his audiences, infusing each moment with music and rhythm, and to carry the Partap musical name to the future.
