Parisian DJ Duke fell in love with turntablism when he first saw legendary French DJ Dee Nasty rock the decks in with MC Lionel D. in ’87. Since then, he has been perfecting his skills, making the French finals several times at the DMC World DJ Championships. He then threw his first gig in ’92 and has been playing at over hundreds of parties and tours.
As a beat maker, DJ Duke has collaborated through his career with not only stalwarts from his neck of the woods like Cut Killer, Joey Starr and Assassin (who he is now the official DJ for) but he has also collaborated with artists across the puddle such as Large Professor, Afu Ra, DJ Premier & Guru. He has released a bevy of mixtapes (American Werewolf, Gangrene Syndicate, etc.) and created his own label, Street Trash Records.
For 2016, DJ Duke has teamed up with one of New York’s newest legends, Napoleon Da Legend for the Legendary mixtape, a 44-track (yes, 44) album of nothing but pure beats, wordplay and cuts. The Legendary mixtape is up for grabs as a free download on DJ Duke’s Bandcamp page.
