Born in Brooklyn and hailing from Staten Island, emcee Dro Preci is known for his When I Blow Up Don’t Show Up mixtape series. Rumor has it that Volume 4 of the popular installment will drop in January, but he does have an official mixtape dropping Feburary 2, properly entitled Groundhog Day.
“They (the fans) could look forward to more of ME, Dro,” he explains of Groundhog Day. “More versatility, more of my life, my struggles, my thoughts, my battles thru life. Less darts and songs about nothing lol. Every song is relatable to most. More personal album to me.”
Leading to the mixtape release is the Mo Stafford-directed video to “Soul Music”, the 2nd single off the joint produced by UG. “The video just shows me as a kid and what i use to do back then,” Dro Pesci says. “We got some reenactments from a scene from Goodfellas, with our own twist on it. It almost shows me reminicsing now about back then: Moms struggling with bills, me tryna help…lol”
Look for one more single to drop before Groundhog Day make its mark. “Soul Music” is out now on iTunes.
