On October 10, 1995, music fans everywhere were introduced to the debut studio album by rapper AZ. Released on EMI Records, “Doe or Die” garnered noteworthy praise. “Doe or Die” reached the Billboard 200, and #1 on the U.S. Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. The landmark album delivered memorable singles, including, “Doe or Die” and “Sugar Hill” – which was certified Gold in 1995. The album went on to sell over a million copies. Doe or Die has been described as “one of the prototypical albums of the Mafioso rap subgenre.”
In celebration of the 20th year milestone anniversary of the debut of “Doe or Die”, Rapper AZ announces the long awaited re-release of the breakthrough album “Doe or Die”. Fans can also look forward to the release of a music video for the new single, “Back to Myself” featuring Soshy, produced by Baby Paul, which will be premiered on October 26th, exclusively on www.Complex.com.
The 20th anniversary also includes the launch of AZ’s digital store, www.QuietMoneyDirect.com. The store features exclusive 20th year “Doe or Die” limited edition merchandise, including specialty hats and shirts designed in part by the rapper himself. As well as AZ’s debut literary project, “Jewels, Gems & Treasures” available now for pre-order and will be released on November 24th. To follow the initial site launch, will be the addition of webpages highlighting music, art and a movie project. Tour dates and appearances planned for 2016 in support of the 20th anniversary events for the landmark album “Doe or Die”.
