One of Aaron Cohen’s darkest songs to date, “Booyakah” is about avoiding the pain of reality. It’s about closing your eyes and retreating into your own mind in order to overcome the difficulties and contradictions in life. Whether through art, drugs, sex, or simply imagination, we all need to escape every once in awhile.
The track marks the second collaboration between Cohen and Alexander Spit. Spit’s dark and progressive style compliments the Coopatroop production and Cohen’s more melodic flow. The pair linked previously on Cohen’s “You Wouldn’t Know” and felt a follow up was in order.
“Booyakah” is the first single off of Cohen’s upcoming Home Less EP which drops June 2 on iTunes.
