Here is a history lesson for some of you still in Hip Hop 101. Krazy Drayz is one half of the legendary hip hop duo, DAS EFX, who caught the attention of EPMD’s Hit Squad and came out with such hits as “They Want EFX”, “Real Hip Hop”, “Mic Checka” and spewed out 4 albums. Their famous refrain of “Check yo self before you wreck yo self” from their feature on Ice Cube’s “Check Yo Self” has become one of the biggest catchphrases to date.
I sat down one beautiful Saturday afternoon with Krazy Drayz at Brooklyn’s Explode Studios and I swear, he gives one of the best hugs…EVER. Before the interview, we hung out and spoke about the state of hip hop with producer Hellz Yea, who also spoke in the interview. For those who think KD fell off, he said to me in his own words, “What? You think I was out smoking somewhere? I’m still here and I ain’t going nowhere!!!” He gives us a very animated look into music as he speaks on his upcoming project on this edition of Hangout Session. Enjoy!
