Taking his career to new heights, Harlem’s own ASAP Rocky will be jumping into the film industry with his role in a film to hit the big screen this summer titled DOPE. Directed by Rick Famuyiwa ( The Wood, Brown Sugar, Our Family Wedding ) is rumored to surround a young man growing up in Inglewood, California during the golden era of Hip Hop.
Starring Shameik Moore, whose leading role encompasses that of surviving in a tough neighborhood, while holding fast to ambitions of attending college. Multi tasking between college applications, interviews, and pending SAT exam. As fate would have it, the invitation to a party presents the opportunity to go from out crowd, to the IN of being “dope” narrated by Forest Whitaker, the film boasts a cast of Zoë Kravitz, Tyga, Casey Veggies, Roger Guenveur Smith and is slated to hit theaters June 19, 2015.
